Conservation Day
Mark your calendars!  October 7th, 2017.  Be part of the biggest pollinator seed harvesting event in Western Wisconsin.  Join hundreds of volunteers from across Wisconsin and Minnesota as the BSA’s Eagle River District hosts the 6th annual Conservation Day on the WPA in partnership with the Friends of the St Croix Wetland Management District, the St Croix Wetland Management District of the US Fish & Wildlife Service and other Pollinator Partners in pursuit of Milkweed Seed for habitat restoration.  Earn unit and individual service hours, conservation service hours, and the Messenger of Peace award for which this event will be registered.  Lunch will be provided.  The Unit with the greatest percentage of participation against unit registration will win a $125 gift certificate to the pizza establishment of their choosing for a “We helped the pollinators” reward feast.  (For example: if a unit has 32 registered Scouts and Leaders, and 46 participants show up, that unit will have 144% participation).  All friends, family members and Scouts are invited, there is no age limit.  Award courtesy of the Friends of the St Croix Wetland Management District.
