New Spirit of Scouting Award

Minimize

The New Spirit of Scouting Award recognizes new units in our district since the last District Recoginition Dinner.  The New Spirit of Scouting Award comes from the old LaCroix District's Red Lantern Award.  A Red Lantern was award to a new unit once they have been a unit for one year.  The Red Lantern represented the Spirit of Scouting burning bright and showing the way through Scouting.

Our New Spirit of Scouting Award is awarded to new Scouting Units since the last District Recoginition Dinner.

Centennial Quality Unit Award

Minimize

The Centennial Quality Awards program is designed to recognize units, districts, councils, areas, and regions in achieving excellence in providing a quality program to a growing youth population in America at all levels of the Boy Scouts of America.  This award ends in 2010.

Journey To Excellence

Minimize

Journey to Excellence is the new performance assessment, communication and recognition program for Councils, Districts and Units. This award replaces the Centennial Quality Unit Award. Levels as of March 5, 2012.

Veteran Unit Emblem/Bar

Minimize

Started in 1952 as a way to recognize unit longevity and commitment to the Scouting Movement, the Veteran Unit Emblem (or Bar) is awarded to any unit with 25 years of active service.The program has seen several changes, the last being in 2000 when every fifth year between 25 and 95 (and later 100) years being recognized with its own patch. The patch is worn between the council patch and the unit numbers on the left shoulder.

National Summertime Pack Den Award

Minimize

The National Den Award recognizes dens that have a quality, year-round program. The award goes to dens that do service and conservation projects, Cub Scout Academics and Sports, field trips, character building, and camping. Dens earn the award as a team, not as individual den members.
